A weekend of horse races and champaign

This past weekend I went to my first horse race in England. Goodwood horse-racing was July 26-30 in Chichester, England.

We went the Saturday, which is definitely the busiest day of the weekend festival. We lucked out with the weather as it was sunny and high of 70s (you learn to embrace those rare moments in England).

I wasn’t into the gambling side of the races, but we got lucky and won 110 pounds on the first race of the day. We only bet 10 pounds, so it was a good profit. My favorite part of the race was dressing up for the experience.

The dress code is strict, so you have to be dressed to the T. Men must wear suit jackets and ties, while women wear fascinator hats and heels.

The event is glamorized with people sipping on Campaign while gambling on the races throughout the day.

I loved my first horse race experience and have put on my bucket list to attend the Ascot races, which are the biggest of the year. The Queen of England typically goes.
